Our country has carried out the one-child policy for decades，which has resulted in a decrease in the population growth rate．Recently，however，it has been made a policy that a couple can bear a second child．

From my point of view，our long-term one-child policy is like a coin which has two sides．On one hand，it has greatly contributes to controlling our large population which indeed causes restriction in the economic and social development．On the other hand，the change from our traditional big family to the core family and the loss of close relationships among brothers and sisters are what we have sacrificed．

For what is listed above，I'm strongly for the new policy．It is obvious that this policy will not destroy the previous efforts we've made to control the population，and at the same time it can give us more freedom in the choice of raising children．As far as I'm concerned，this policy is bound to help solve some of the social and family problems brought up by the one-child policy．

What I'm expecting in terms of the population problem facing our country is that we should keep the balance between population control and the steady growth of new generations and we should never go extremes on either side．Only through our own awareness can we control the population effectively in the long run and give future generations better living conditions．All in all，I'm looking forward to the new policy coming into effect！
