After comparing a class test with writing a term paper，I think the latter is an ideal means of examination．

In the very first place，I can choose any subject which I am interested in to write on for my term paper，while a class test is prepared according to the teachers' own opinions．Without being restricted to a limited study range，I can study with more passion，more creativity and more pleasure．Another advantage of writing a term paper is that I can refer to any reference book and discuss with my classmates on the subject．It is during research and discussion that my knowledge will be broadened and views from different perspective will be formed．Through this process，I can learn not only more about the subject，but also many useful communication skills．In addition，rather than finish the whole test paper hurriedly in only two hours，I can have two weeks to present my thoughts to the fullest through my term paper．There's no need for me to hurry，which contributes to a better performance．

All in all，even though a class test is the most efficient way to examine how the students have learned，it fails to pay enough attention on the sense of individuality of the students．On the contrary，a term paper can bring out most from the students．That is why I'm in favour of it．
