Age hasn't wearied Australian soft rock duo Air Supply. They hit their highest notes in the '80s, but lead vocalist Russell Hitchcock and songwriter Graham Russell still take pleasure plying their art and hitting the road.

'A career should span a lifetime,'Mr. Russell said. 'And just because we're in music, it doesn't mean that it should be five or 10 years, and you stop and go get a job at Wal-Mart or something.'

Their 2011 tour, which has already made stops in Taiwan, the Philippines, Singapore and the U.S., will continue into December, playing more spots in the U.S. and also taking in the U.K., Canada and Mexico and two more Asia countries: Japan and Indonesia.

'Over the past 20 years, the audiences here (in Asia) have become much more demonstrative, much more open and getting involved,' Mr. Hitchcock said. 'They've really come out of their shells. It's cool if they want to sing along, scream or yell at us.'

The duo picked their five favorite current acts.

    The Black Eyed Peas

'I didn't like them when they played at the Super Bowl; I thought they were awful live. But I just love what they do; it's all kind of hip-hop and very current,' Mr. Russell said. 'For instance, I love 'Meet Me Halfway,' which I think is a great song. And I love the album ('The E.N.D.') in its entirety. They're very innovative.'

    James Blunt

'I think he's a bit of a throwback; he always reminds of a renaissance guy. Very emotional songs and I love his voice too,' Mr. Hitchcock said. Noting the singer's experience in Kosovo, where he served as an officer in the British army, Mr. Russell said, 'He's got a lot going on inside, and the way that he portrays that is very clever and very real.' He added, 'He's a little guy. I had a picture taken with him. He had to stand on the sofa, and I was still taller than he was. But that doesn't mean his heart isn't bigger than mine'

    Adele

'She's huge in America now,' Mr. Russell said of the English singer-songwriter. 'I have an album of hers from a couple of years ago—it's called '19.' She's got great songs on it and that's what I was attracted to.' He plans to watch her sing live this month in the U.S. 'She's a great songwriter and she's got a great voice; in the current musical climate it's hard to get both things going.'

    Christina Perri

The 24-year-old from Philadelphia found fame last year after one of her songs aired on U.S. television show 'So You Think You Can Dance.' 'She's just come onto the scene, and she looks like she's very hungry,' Mr. Russell said. 'It must be difficult for artists such as her to try and find success. You've got to have something no one else has got, but I think she's great and she's going to be around for a while.'

    Mumford & Sons

The four members of this English folk-rock band play an eclectic mix of guitars, drums, keyboards and folk instruments like the banjo. 'It sounds fresh, kind of like bluegrass but with big harmonies, and they all sing,' Mr. Russell said. 'It's bizarre but the album is brilliant. It's all kind of pop-py and very cool.'
