据悉，这首《Diamonds》与RiRi以往的火爆劲歌、洗脑电音不同，抒情曲风的《Diamonds》回归了R&B。在制作和演唱的处理上，走的也是复古圆润的路线。很多人会把Rihanna归为传统的dancehall歌手，但其实Rihanna的音乐是dancehall和reggae的混合，并带有一些清新的R&B曲风。
