24. 到底用contents还是content

　　A. 常用contents的情况

　　1. 指包、袋、箱子、容器等里面的物体(the contents of a box, bag, bottle building, room, etc)时，一般用contents。例如：

　　The contents of the chest proved them wrong.

　　海底沉箱内的物品证明他们弄错了。

　　Now cups say, “caution, contents are hot”.

　　现在纸杯上都印有“内有热饮，小心烫口”的字样。

　　2. 指书或杂志的目录(a list at the beginning of a book or magazine)时，一般用contents。例如：

　　I can't find it in the contents.

　　我在目录当中找不到。

　　B. 常用content的情况

　　用于名词之后指“容量、含量”.(amount of sth contained in sth else)时。一般用content。例如:

　　the silver content of coin

　　硬币中银的含量

　　food with a high content fat

　　脂肪含量高的食物

　　C. 二者都可使用的情况

　　1. 虽然都可以用，但建议用content的情况

　　the content of the website/show/essay/meeting/article/one's character

　　网站/演出/论文/会议/文章/个性的内容

　　2. 虽然都可以用，但建议用contents的情况

　　the contents of the letter/document

　　信/文件的内容
