二、形容词作定语时的位置

1.形容词作定语一般要前置

I bought an interesting book yesterday.我昨天买了一本有趣的书。

She has got a used car.她有一辆二手车。

2.形容词作定语修饰复合不定代词时要后置

Let’s go and see if we can find something particular.

走吧，看看我们能否找到什么特别的东西。

Is there anything important in the article？ 这篇文章里有什么重要的内容吗？

There is nothing difficult in the lesson.这节课里没有很难的内容。

Someone important will give the students a lecture.一位重要人物将给学生做报告。

This mysterious something is known as radium.这种神秘的东西是镭。

【提示】 修饰something时也可以前置。

3.形容词短语作定语要后置

I think he is a man suitable for the job.我认为他是适合做这项工作的人。

The basket full of fruits belongs to the beautiful girl.

装满水果的这个篮子是这个漂亮女孩的。

We need a place twice larger than this one.我们需要一个比这里大一倍的地方。

They produced gases almost as harmful as those from the factories.

他们排出的废气几乎和工厂排出的废气一样有害。

4.成对的形容词作定语要后置

There was a huge cupboard，simple and beautiful.有一个大食橱，简朴而美观。

She has many pencils，blue and red.她有许多铅笔，有蓝的、红的。

People in the village，young and old，went to see the film yesterday evening.

这个村子里的人，老的、少的，昨天晚上都去看了这场电影。

Power stations，large and small，have been set up all over the country.

大大小小的发电站已经在全国各地建立起来。

5.表语形容词作定语要后置

Do you know the man asleep？ 你认识睡觉的那个人吗？

He must be the best violinist alive.他一定是当代最好的小提琴手了。

6.以-able，-ible结尾的形容词作定语时要后置

This is the best way available.这是现有的最好方法。

That is the only solution possible.那是唯一可行的解决办法。
