　　“地震险”可以用earthquake insurance表示，住房地震险(earthquake insurance covering houses)属于巨灾保险(catastrophe insurance)的重要品种，该险种优先选择中国地震局确定的地震易发区(earthquake-prone zones)为试点地区。

　　根据方案，将建立地震保险基金(earthquake insurance fund)，资金来源涉及政府拨款、保险费计提、社会捐赠等多方面。这项政策将缓解用于灾后住房重建(post-quake housing reconstruction)的资金短缺。尽管方案未透露具体保险费(insurance premiums)，但指出各级财政提供60%的保险费补贴。

　　保险责任范围(insurance coverage)包括震级在M5级及以上的地震及由此在72小时内引起的泥石流(debris flow)、滑坡、地陷(ground subsidence )、地裂(ground fissure)、埋没、火灾、火山爆发及爆炸造成的房屋直接损失。
