M: Linda, it is great that you have been admitted into this college. Have you finished your registration procedure?

W: Yes, it’s done. By the way, I was told that there will be a lecture on UFO in the auditorium this evening. Can you tell me the way to the auditorium?

M: A piece of cake. I will show you around the campus now.

    W: That’s great.

    Dialogue 2.

W: How did your craft do?

M: It took first place in the contest.

    M: Thank you.

    Dialogue 3.

M: Mom, I can’t wait to get my diploma.

W: Well, you earned it. Where are you going to hang your diploma?

M: I am going to frame it and put it in my study. Well, are you coming to see me graduate?

W: I would not miss your commencement for the world.

M: I will receive my diploma at commencement.

W: What time is your graduation ceremony?

M: It's at 1:30. It will be a lovely commencement.

W: I think I will enjoy the ceremony.

    Dialogue 4.

W: The placard said there will be a ball on Sunday. Will you come with me?

M: I’d love to. But I have to go to the restaurant where I have been working part time as a bus boy.

W: What a pity. Can’t you have a day off for the weekend?

    M: I am afraid I can’t.

W: But you worked some overtime the other day.

M: Yes, and they paid me time and a half.

W: So what will happen if you don’t show up this weekend?

M: They said they would fire people. They mean what they say. Now you know what work study means.

W: Yeah, pretty tough. Well, enjoy your work.

M: Thanks. Have a good time.

    Dialogue 5.

W: Professor Mill, may I have a talk with you? I’ve got a problem.

M: Oh, yes, Mary. I am your teacher, and I am always ready to listen.

W: I have been looking for a job as a translator. I read a job ad in today’s newspaper for an English interpreter. But I am afraid I am not qualified.

    M: Why?

W: They said they want someone experienced.

M: It’s not difficult. If I were you I would call the company and tell them I am a quick learner and I would not let them down if they could give me a chance.

    W: That’s a good idea professor Mill.

M: Then have I solved your problem?

W: Yes, thank you very much for your advice.
