This is the Top Five Countdown! We’re unwrapping the five most popular songs in the Billboard Hot 100 Pop Singles chart, for the week ending July 4, 2015.

We get one new song this week and it is indeed a new song…not a re-entry.

Top 5 Songs for Week Ending July 4

    1. "See You Again" Wiz Khalifa Featuring Charlie Puth

    2. "Bad Blood" Taylor Swift Featuring Kendrick Lamar

    3. "Trap Queen" Fetty Wap

    4. "Cheerleader OMI

    5. "Shut Up And Dance" Walk

The MoonLet’s start in fifth place, where Walk The Moon dips a notch with“Shut Up And Dance.” The Ohio band has signed on as a participant in Pop Open Music, sponsored by Pepsi-Cola. Earlier this month, Pepsi’s North American summer campaign debuted new TV spots featuring Walk The Moon’s next single, “Different Colors.”

Up at number four we have a different song: “Cheerleader” by OMI. This one’s already a proven smash... Originally released in 2012 in OMI’s native Jamaica, this track was remixed by German producer Felix Jaehn and promptly topped charts from Australia to the United Kingdom before traveling Stateside.

It’s a logjam at the top – I go away for a week, but find Fetty Wap still holding fast to third place with “Trap Queen.” The New Jersey rapper earned a high-profile slot at the BET Award show on June 28. Fetty closed out the BET Awards ceremony with a high-energy performance of this song…and there’s more music on the way. His next single, “Boomin’,” will impact radio soon, and we’re still waiting for an EP and full-length album.

Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar remain within striking distance of the prize in second place with “Bad Blood.” Taylor just earned another place in the record books…Taylor and her DJ boyfriend Calvin Harris top Forbes Magazine’s latest list of the wealthiest celebrity couples. They raked in a combined $146-million last year. They displace former champs Beyonce and Jay Z, who earned a paltry $110 million…and yes, we're being sarcastic.

Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth enter an exclusive club, as “See You Again” posts a 10th total week at the top. How rare is this? We’ll take a closer look in a moment. It’s the 30th song in the Hot 100’s 57-year history to last 10 or more weeks at number one. That’s out of a total of 1,043 championship songs…making it a pretty rare occurrence!

Even fewer songs have lasted 11 weeks…so let’s see where it goes from here. Join us in seven days for brand a new lineup.
