Mike: Taiwan's subtropical climate is perfect for cultivating all kinds of fruit and vegetables. Youcan get things that grow in Europe, like apples and pears, and also more exotic fruits, such aspineapples, bananas and durian. A smorgasbord of delights!

Mike: To be honest, I'm tempted by everything I see. I've never seen so many people hawkingtheir wares. It's not only food that's on offer, there's clothing, flowers, toys, incense, even old-man style vests and pajamas.
