但英国人从来不说the underground或 the metro,

因为在外形上伦敦地铁很像隧道。

Iffy

Oh no, that sounds a bit iffy. 是什么意思呢?

mean: incorrect/not quite right

iffy指的是“什么东西很可疑”。

例如：

---Lucy, I've just received an email and a really rich prince wants to give me 200 million pounds.

(露西，我刚收到一封邮件，

skint

skint指的是穷光蛋。

means: broke/penniless
