Drought /draʊt/

n. 旱灾;干旱(时期)，旱季

It refers to a long period of time when there is little or no rain in a place.

它指的是某地长时间少雨或无雨。

It was one of the worst droughts on record in our country.

这是我国有记载以来最严重的的旱灾之一。

The drought decades ago had killed millions of people there.

几十年前的旱灾让那里数百万的人丧生。

 

Draught /dra:ft/

n. 通风，气流，穿堂风

It refers to a flow of cool air in a room or other confined space.

它指的是在房间或其他密闭空间中的冷空气流动。

There is a draught blew in from the open window in her room.

她房间里有一股冷风从打开着的窗户吹了进来

Don’t sit in the draught, or you will catch the cold soon.

别坐在风口处，否则你会很快感冒的。
