79　assume，presume和suppose

① assume指把尚未证实的事作为事实或真理，常含有较强的武断成分。

I assume that you have heard the news. 谅必你已经听到了那个消息。

② presume指根据某些现象、印象或经验而作出推断，虽然有较充足的理由，但结论也有可能是错。

They presumed the death of the missing person. 他们假定失踪者已死亡。

③ suppose表示自己有一定根据的猜想，有时仅表述自己的意见，有暂时认为之意。

I should suppose him to be about sixty. 我猜想他大约60岁左右。

Let's suppose that he is right. 让我们假定他是对的。
