① hear of意为“听说,听到,得到消息”,指从别人那里间接得知。
I have heard of her arrival. 我听说她已经到了。
I have never heard of him since then. 自那以后,我没有听到关于他的音讯。
② hear from意为“收到……的来信,得到……的消息”,其宾语可以是人或物,并可用于被动语态。
She seldom hears from him. 她很少收到他的来信。
She hears from America every month. 她每个月都会收到美国的来信。
She hasn't heard from hometown for years. 她好几年没有得到家乡的音讯了。
The man disappeared a year ago,never to be heard from again. 那人一年前失踪了,再也没有得到他的音讯。
③ 表示“听到,听说”时,hear of有时可同hear about换用,但hear about表示知道得更详细、具体。
