① nearly和almost在肯定句中，都作“几乎，差不多”解，常可换用。

Nearly/Almost all the children like the book. 几乎所有的儿童都喜欢这本书。

② almost表示的程度要更准确些。

It's almost 11 o'clock. 差不多11点了。

③ almost可以说是几分钟之差，nearly表示的时间差则可以大些。nearly可与not单独连用，不可修饰no，never，none，nothing；almost不可与not单独连用，但可修饰no，never，none，nothing。

He has nearly no money.

He has almost no money.

他几乎没有钱。

They are not almost ready.

They are not nearly ready.
