i. 表示存在意义的全倒装句

1. 表示存在意义的句型用倒装句，强调存在的方位，有如下几种：

1）There (appear, seem, happen, used) + to be +主语+其他

There seems/appears to be no one in the classroom.

教室里似乎没有人。

There happened to be no one in the room when I came in.

我进来的时候碰巧房间里没有人。

2）There stand （lie, live, happen）+主语+其他=There be+主语+其他

There is a hole in the wall.

墙上有个洞。

Once there lived a king, who had a beautiful daughter.

从前有个国王，国王有个美丽的女儿。

There happened an accident last night.

昨天夜里出车祸了。

There stands a high building over there.

那边有座高楼。

There lies a railway extending eastward.

有一条铁路向东延伸。

3）地点状语+谓语+主语+其他

On the chair stood a little boy who was singing.

椅子上站着一个小男孩在唱歌。

Under the tree lay a dog which was sleeping.

树下躺着一条狗在睡觉。

2. 不指具体地点和时间的副词在句首时引起倒装：

There （Here, Now, Then) + come/go/be +主语

Here comes the bus!

公共汽车来了。

There goes the bell!

铃响了。

Then came a knock at the door!

紧接着传来了敲门声。

There suddenly rushed into the room a group of small children.

突然闯进房间来一群小孩子。

When, at last, she stopped, there followed the strangest silence.

最后她终于停下来时，紧随其后的是一片奇怪的寂静。

注意：

1）这里there, then等不指具体地点和时间。

2）谓语动词常是be, go, come, run等不及物动词。

3）主语的数决定谓语动词的数；在两个或两个以上的主语并列存在时，谓语动词的数应与其最近的主语保持一致，详见“主谓一致”。

There comes a boy and two girls.

一个男孩和两个女孩来了。

4) 主语是人称代词时，主谓不倒装。

Here he comes!

他来了。
