vi. as用作关系代词

1. as与such连用，这时as = who/which。

I have never heard such a story as you tells .

我从来没有听到像你讲的这样的故事。

He is not such a fool as he looks .

他不像看上去的那么傻。

Such women as knew Tom thought he was handsome.

认识汤姆的妇女们都认为他很帅。

2. as与the same连用。

She wears the same kind of clothes as her mother usually does.

他穿着她妈妈通常穿的那种衣服。

Yesterday I bought the same dictionary as you have.

昨天我买了你有的那种辞典。

3. as和which都可以引导定语从句，先行词是整个主句或者主句的一部分。

She was quite right, as Harry soon discovered.

正如哈里很快发现的那样，她完全正确。

Taiwan is , as you know, an inseparable part of China.

你们都知道，台湾是中国不可分割的一部分。

注意：

1）as从句经常可以放句首，而which从句不能放句首。

As everyone knows, Taiwan belongs to China.

大家都知道台湾属于中国。

2）当主句是否定句时，多用as引导从句。

Greenland was not a continent, as people thought.

格陵兰并不像人们所想像的那样是一个大洲。

3）as意为“正如”，而which意为“这一点”。

4）当从句的谓语是see或know时，多用as引导从句。

He is an American, as I know from his accent.

他是美国人，我从他的发音就能听出来。

5）当从句是被动语态时，多用as引导从句。句中的as从句也不能用which来代替。

As is reported in the newspapers, talk between the two countries are making progress.

正如报纸上报道的那样，这两国之间的谈判正在取得进步。
