第五十二课 老鼠

The merry mice stay in their holes,

快乐的老鼠安静的躲在洞里

And hide themselves by day;

远离白日的危险

But when the house is still at night,

一旦整个屋子淹没在黑暗中

The rogues come out to play.

这些流氓就跑出来玩耍

They climb upon the pantry shelf,

他们爬上物品储藏室的架子上

And taste of all they please;

尽情的享受美味

 

They drink the milk that's set for cream,

他们喝着用来制作冰激凌的牛奶

And nibble bread and cheese.

啃咬这面包和奶酪

But if they chance to hear the cat,

但是如果他们碰巧听到猫叫

Their feast will soon be done;

他们的盛宴就结束了

They scamper off to hide themselves,

他们惊慌奔跑隐藏自己

As fast as they can run.
