1　road 通常指城镇间有汽车通行的大路。

The road is crowded with cars. 路上挤满了车。

Keep to the right side of the road . 靠路右边走。

2　street 指“大街，街道”，两侧有建筑物、商店等。

4　highway 指大的或主要的“路，公路”，如省道，国道，多用于英国。
