THE STORY OF MISS MOPPET

This is a Pussy called Miss Moppet, she thinks she has heard a mouse!

This is the Mouse peeping out behind the cupboard, and making fun of Miss Moppet. He is not afraid of a kitten.

This is Miss Moppet jumping just too late; she misses the Mouse and hits her own head. She thinks it is a very hard cupboard!

The Mouse watches Miss Moppet from the top of the cupboard.

Miss Moppet ties up her head in a duster, and sits before the fire.

The Mouse thinks she is looking very ill. He comes sliding down the bell-pull.

Miss Moppet looks worse and worse. The Mouse comes a little nearer.

Miss Moppet holds her poor head in her paws, and looks at him through a hole in the duster. The Mouse comes very close. And then all of a sudden—Miss Moppet jumps upon the Mouse!

And because the Mouse has teased Miss Moppet—Miss Moppet thinks she will tease the Mouse; which is not at all nice of Miss Moppet. She ties him up in the duster, and tosses it about like a ball. But she forgot about that hole in the duster; and when she untied it—there was no Mouse! He has wriggled out and run away; and he is dancing a jig on the top of the cupboard!

娃娃小姐的故事

有一只小猫咪名叫娃娃小姐。她觉得自己听到了老鼠的动静。

原来有一只老鼠贼头贼脑地从橱柜后面向外看，他想捉弄一下娃娃小姐，他并不害怕小奶猫。

娃娃小姐跳起来得太晚了，没有抓到老鼠，却撞到了自己的头。她觉得那个橱柜好硬啊！

老鼠爬到了橱柜的顶上望着娃娃小姐。

娃娃小姐用抹布把自己的头包了起来，坐在炉火前。

老鼠觉得她肯定很不舒服，于是顺着拉铃绳滑了下来。

娃娃小姐的状况看起来越来越糟。老鼠一点点地靠近她。

娃娃小姐用爪子抱着自己可怜的脑袋，透过抹布上的一个小洞看着老鼠。老鼠已经离她非常近了。就在这时，突然之间，娃娃小姐跳起来扑向老鼠。

因为老鼠戏弄了娃娃小姐，所以娃娃小姐觉得自己也应该戏弄老鼠一下——虽然她这么做不太善良！她把老鼠包在抹布里，把它像球一样丢来丢去。但是她忘记抹布上有个洞了，所以，等她解开抹布的时候，发现老鼠已经不见了。老鼠从小洞里钻出来逃走了，他现在正在橱柜顶上跳吉格舞呢！
