Yahoo is now saying that a cyber attack back in 2013 affected all three billion of its accounts, tripling the number it originally reported; this according to its new parent company Verizon Communications.

The figure was based on new information and comes months after Verizon completed its acquisition of Yahoo.

A spokesperson for Oath, the new name of Verizon's Yahoo unit, said, "Compromised customer information included usernames, passwords, and in some cases telephone numbers and dates of birth." However, the stolen information did not include passwords in clear text, payment card data or bank account information.
