The average cost of new housing in 70 major cities grew 5.1 per cent in November, according to a weighted average from Reuters based on official data from China’s National Bureau of Statistics.

The reading marked the twelfth consecutive month of slowing growth following a peak of 12.6 per cent in November 2016, as well as the slowest rate of growth since March of that year.
自2016年11月新建商品住宅价格涨幅达到12.6%的峰值后,这已经是该价格涨幅连续第12个月放缓,同时也是2016年3月以来的最低涨幅。
In year-on-year terms prices rose in 59 of the 70 cities surveyed, with prices falling in top-tier cities including Shanghai and Beijing (both down 0.3 per cent), Chengdu (down 1.3 per cent) and Nanjing (down 1.5 per cent). While Hong Kong-adjacent Shenzhen saw the biggest fall, down 3.2 per cent, nearby Guangzhou saw prices rise 6.6 per cent from a year earlier.

Prices were up 0.3 per cent in month-on-month terms, unchanged from October, with price falls in 10 mostly top-tier cities, though average prices remained unchanged in Beijing, Shanghai and eight other cities.

The continued sluggishness for price growth comes after official figures showed investment in China’s real estate market rose at the slowest pace in nearly a year last month as growth in sales volume edged closer to a late 2015 low.
新建商品住宅价格上涨持续乏力。此前,上月的官方数据显示,中国房地产市场投资增速为将近一年来的最低水平,房地产销售面积增速接近2015年末以来的低点。
