Chinese tourists visited domestic attractions over 2.8 billion times in the first half of 2018, up 11.4% year-on-year, according to a report released last Wednesday by the China Tourism Academy.

中国旅游研究院上周三发布的一份报告显示，2018年上半年国内旅游人数超过28亿人次，比去年同期增长11.4%。

The report said urban residents accounted for almost 2 billion visits, an increase of 13.7% compared with the same period last year, while residents from the countryside paid about 800 million visits, up 6.3%.

该报告指出，其中，城镇居民近20亿人次，比去年同期增长13.7%;农村居民约8亿人次，增长6.3%。

The revenue generated by domestic tourism was 2.45 trillion yuan, a rise of 12.5%, the figures show.

数据显示，国内旅游收入2.45万亿元，增长12.5%。

 

Red tourism, which refers to activities and locations related to the Communist Party of China, has seen a boom over the past six months, according to the report.

该报告称，红色旅游--也就是指与中国共产党有关的活动和地点，在今年上半年蓬勃发展。

Visits to the 436 registered scenic spots that highlight the nation's revolutionary history hit a record high of 484 million, up 4.83% year-on-year. Revenue reached over 250 billion yuan, a near 6% increase.

436家登记在册、强调我国革命历史的红色旅游景区共接待游客4.84亿人次，创历史新高，同比增长4.83%，实现收入超过2500亿元，增长近6%。

The outbound tourism market also saw growth in the first half, with trips to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan as well as foreign destinations reaching over 70 million, up 15% year-on-year.

上半年，出境游市场也实现增长，赴港澳台、国外目的地旅游人数超7000万人次，同比增长15%。
