4. A bride's vision

There was a couple who were getting to know each other, and when the girl was introduced to the boy's family she was very, very impressed2 with the way the parents loved each other so much. She kept saying, "Oh my God! They were so thoughtful! And your dad even brought your mom a cup of coffee in bed every morning."

She loved that very much. And after a while, the girl and boy got engaged3 and then were ready to get married.

On the way to their wedding, the girl still kept repeating her comments4 about how loving the boy's parents were and how the dad always brought coffee in bed every morning to the mom.

She kept on and on about that, and then she said, "Does that quality5 run in the family?"

And the boy said, "Yes, yes! It runs in the family, all right. And I take after my mom!"

新娘的憧憬

一对情侣正在交往，女方认识男方的家人后，对男方父母间的浓情留下深刻的印象。她经常跟男友说：“你的父母彼此好体贴！每天早上你爸还端一杯咖啡到床上给你妈。”

女孩对这种感情充满向往。过了一阵子，她和男友订婚了。这以后不久他们就准备结婚了。

他们结婚那天，前往婚礼的途中，女孩还是不停地称赞男方父母有多恩爱、他爸爸每天早上都端咖啡到床上给他妈妈。

她一直说个不停，然后问道：“你们家一向都有这样的传统吗？”

男孩回答：“是啊！我们家一向都是这样。不过，继承我妈妈位子的是我！”

按照习惯，订婚戒一般戴在左手的中指，结婚戒指戴在左手的无名指。订婚戒指的由来据说是古代抢婚演绎的结果，当时，男子抢来其他部落的妇女就给她戴上枷锁。经过多年的演变，枷锁变成了订婚戒指，男子给女子戴戒指表示“她已归我所有”。
