3. The only bear

There once was a bear and a rabbit that hated each other. One day, they found a genie1 in a lamp who said he would grant them each three wishes. The bear went first and he said, "I wish to be the only male bear in this forest." And he got his wish. The rabbit said, "I want a motorcycle helmet2." And he got his wish.

The bear went up and said, "I wish to be the only male bear in the United States, and all the rest to be female." And he got his wish.

The rabbit said, "I wish I had a motorcycle to go with that helmet." And he got his wish.

The bear said, "I wish I was the only male bear in the world, and all the rest were females." And he got his wish.

It was the rabbit's turn, and he said, "I wish that bear was gay3."

独一无二的熊

曾经有一头熊和一只兔子非常恨对方。一天，他们在一盏油灯里发现了一只精灵，精灵说他能各自满足他们三个愿望。熊先提出一个愿望说：“我愿成为这片森林里唯一的雄性熊。”于是他的愿望被满足了。

兔子说：“我想要一个摩托车头盔。”他的愿望也被满足了。

熊上前说：“我愿成为美国唯一的雄性熊，其他的都是雌熊”。他实现了愿望。

兔子说：“我希望有辆和这个头盔相配的摩托车。”他也实现了愿望。

熊说：“我希望我是世界上唯一的雄性熊，所有其他的都是雌熊。”他实现了愿望。

轮到兔子了，他说：“我希望那只雄性熊是同性恋。”

同性恋是指一个人无论在性爱、心理、情感及社交上的兴趣，主要对象均为同性别的人，这样的兴趣并未从外显行为中表露出来。那些对与同性产生爱情、性欲或恋慕的人，被称为同性恋者。现代汉语口语中，常常使用“同志”（但是在正式场合下，这个词语的原意不变）来称呼同性恋者，也有部分人称其为“兔子”。此外，粤语吸收了英文单词gay后，用“基”指同性恋，但是此词通常具贬义。
