Right可以说是我们最常用的词之一

大家想到的第一个意思是什么呢?

不知大家听没听过这个笑话：

一个人在美国考驾照，

在路口问考官：Turn left?左转吗?

考官：Right!

于是。。。

他往右一拐

挂了。。。

大家Get到了吗?

Right其实在这里既可以表示“对的”，

也可以表示“右边”

所以怪谁呢?

貌似谁都不能怪

只能算是个misunderstanding

其实Right的意思不仅仅是这些

今天我们再来Right都能怎么用!

She's my right-hand woman.

她是我的得力的助手

Harry is right-handed, but Mary's left-handed.

Harry惯用右手，而Mary惯用左手

He's my Mr. Right.

他就是我的“真命天子”

You took the words right out of my mouth.

你刚好把我想说的话都说了!

你没有权利这么做!

其实alright可以算是all right的informal形式。

我们可能经常会说Is everything alright?

其实它的标准正式书写形式应该是：

Is everything all right?一切都还好吧?

而alright则大多会用在Alright, then.表示“ok，好吧”

They hit it off right away.

他们立刻就变得熟络起来(一见如故)

hit it off 是合得来，志趣相投的意思

他现在卧病在床
