For diabetics²⁾ on the go，drawing blood to check sugar levels every two hours or so is a major inconvenience．Now comes a tool to ease the anguish³⁾．The wrist－mounted GlucoWatch Biographer checks sugar every２０minutes by sending tiny electric currents through the skin．If a reading is abnormal⁴⁾，the watch alerts the patient to recheck it traditionally．Future incarnations⁵⁾ will replace finger pricks altogether．

 

血糖测试仪

 

患糖尿病时，每两个小时左右就要抽一次血，以检查血糖量，这样带来极大不便。现在有一种工具问世，可以减轻痛苦。戴在手腕上的血糖测试仪通过向皮肤中发送细小的电流来每２０分钟核查一次血糖。如果一次读数不正常，则该测试仪便对患者发出警报，要其用传统方式重新加以核查。未来的型号将会彻底取代划破手指的检查方法。
