Choosing a major is a big event．According to the survey recently conducted by our school，nearly half of the Senior Three students here pay their attention to the needs of society and 40% to the suggestions from their parents and teachers．Still another 15% of the students choose their majors in response to some other conditions．

Certainly，there is some truth in both the two ways which the vast majority takes．Considering the fierce job market，the importance of getting involved in a “joyful” profession is self-evident．And judging from the immaturity of yourself，you absolutely have to turn to the experienced for help．Yet I'd say，more consideration must be given to your inner self when you choose a major．Above all，choosing a major is the first step in your own life．Whether the decision agrees with your interest can even determine the happiness in the rest of your life．And，of course，you know your potentials and strong points better than anyone else．The choice you make can probably fit you the best！

We can never be too careful when making the life-altering choice．It's nice to listen to the society and the others．However，do not forget to listen to your heart．It may offer the best answer．
