本季美国偶像最后有一个特别为Simon准备的tribute session，Paula回来了，舞台上那一席话真切感人。随后的一段视频剪辑中，插曲是经典名曲My Way，经常用在分别的场所，作为告别曲演唱。Simon一手创造的美声跨界团体Il Divo也曾经翻唱过这首歌。值得一提的是，最后大家合唱的那首歌，Together We Are One，是澳大利亚歌手Delta Goodrem演唱的，写这首歌的是她男朋友Brian McFadden，而Brian就是Simon一手栽培起来的爱尔兰男子组合Westlife的前成员，后来单飞了。
