11. 北京大学
Peking University is one of the earliest and most famous universities in China, which enjoys a great reputation at home and abroad. It has been a leading institution of higher education in China since its establishment. To a great degree, Peaking University is the symbol of China's modernization and renaissance. May Fourth Movement and New Culture Movement were both successfully carried out under the leadership of Peking University. In modern times, China suffered a lot from other countries' invasion and the civil war, but it also luckily nurtured a large group of great people in different fields. Peking University leads China's ideological liberation, cultural regeneration and social modernization.
