利奥: 这是因为它是以急件方式处理的，而且还是在假日。不过如果您需要的话，我可以查询一下这笔费用。
Leo: It was cleaned at very short notice and on a holiday.

请注意听，利奥在将帐单递给客人时是这么说的。这是您的帐单。

在实际生活中大概很少有客人不核对帐单就付帐的，所以也许利奥不必向客人问第二个问题。不过这句话中的动词look , 看， 在和不同的介词搭配使用时，它后面所跟的名词也不同。我们说核对帐单时，英语就是“ look over an invoice”。而我们要说“看看菜单”时，英语就是“look at menu”。这是因为look over 这个介词短语除了有“看”的意思之外，它还暗喻着“核查”的意思。另外，您知道“看看小册子”的英语怎么说吗?这种时候我们就要说“look through brochures”。这是因为小册子和书是要翻页阅

读的。不是吗?也许您现在已经被这些不同的介词短语弄得头晕脑涨了吧?不要着急，先让我们跟着老师一起来练习一下这些句子好吗?

在实际生活中，客人对帐单中的某项收费提出疑问的原因往往是因为他们忘记了自己曾经使用过这项服务，所以利奥在对话中就特别向蒙纳提供了具体的细节。除此之外，利奥还向蒙纳建议可以去更进一步核查。请注意，他是这样说的。
利奥: 不过，如果您需要的话我可以查询一下这笔费用。

在这句话中，利奥是以however 开头的。However 是but 这个词的另外一种更加正式的说法。接下来请跟着老师一起练习。
