1. between:
l)在(两者)之间：
I sat between Smith and Jane.

2. beyond:
1)在……外边，在……那一边：
Beyond the tow cottages stood Li's house.

2)超出：
It's expensive and beyond their reach.

To do this was quite beyond my power.

3)无法……：

She was touched beyond words.

3. but:
l)除了(多和nobody, nothing, who 等代词连用):
I haven't told anybody but you.

Who but a fool would do such a thing?

2)用于某些成语：
