The stamp design is inspired by the visual identity of the Paris Olympic Games, using the exquisite decoration of the gold stamping process, and incorporating the image of the Eiffel Tower and the Seine River.

"This stamp, featuring the colours of Paris 2024, is a new milestone in our partnership with La Poste. The stamps show visual symbols of the games, such as the Eiffel Tower, which will help open the doors to the Games. We can't wait to see its journey in France and around the world!" Said Tony Estanguet, president of the Paris Organizing committee.

The first official Olympic stamps issued by La Poste were 100 years ago in 1924, when Paris hosted the eighth Summer Olympics. The 1968 Grenoble Winter Olympics and 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics were followed by two sets of official Olympic stamps issued by La Poste. After Paris officially won the right to host the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in 2017, France Post also issued commemorative stamps to celebrate the success of Paris's bid in the same year.
