① show为最普通用词，泛指一切有意无意地把东西给别人看的行为。

They told us to show our passports. 他们叫我们出示护照。

② display指有意地或炫耀地把某物摆出来给众人观看。

The prize winning drawings in the art show were displayed in the school corridors. 在艺术展览会上获奖的绘画作品在学校走廊里展出。

③ exhibit指为出售、竞赛等目的而把东西陈列出来，也可作show的较为正式的代用词。
