ii. 分词作定语

1. 现在分词作定语表示主动或者表示主动且动作正在进行。

The rising moon is very beautiful.

正在升起的月亮很美丽。

The students singing over there are my good friends.

那边唱歌的学生是我的好朋友。

2. 过去分词作定语表示被动且动作已经完成。

The room with a broken window is mine.

有一个破窗户的那个房间是我的。

Guests invited to the evening party were her father's colleagues.

应邀参加晚会的客人都是她父亲的同事。

3. 分词作定语往往可以用定语从句代替。

The boy (who is) standing over ther e is my close friend.

站在那边的男孩是我的密友。

Did you see the man (who is) talking to our class teacher?

你以前见过正在与我们班主任谈话的那个男人吗？

Is this the book (which is) written by Lu Xun?

这就是鲁迅写的那本书吗？

4. 单个分词作前置定语, 分词短语作后置定语。

He is a promising young man .

他是个很有前途的年轻人。

This is the very moving story told by our class teacher at yesterday's class meeting.

这就是在昨天班会上我们班主任讲的那个动人故事。

5. 完成式的现在分词短语不能作定语，应用过去分词短语或者现在分词或者定语从句来作定语。

The matter (which is) being discussed is of vital importance.

正在讨论的这件事至关重要。

The matter discussed at the meeting is of vital importance.

The matter that has been discussed at The meeting is of vital importance.

会上已讨论的这件事至关重要。
