186　next week和the next week能否换用

1　next 意为“下……，紧接的”，next+时间名词 是以现在为起点，指将来的时间，谓语动词用一般将来时，这时，next 前不可加the或其他介词。next 也可单独用作副词。

I'll go there next week . 我下周将去那里。

He will return home next Sunday . 他下星期天将要回家来。

I'll go for a holiday next summer . 明年夏天我将去度假。

We'll have a match next month . 下个月我们将进行一场比赛。

When shall we meet next ? 下次我们什么时候见面？

2　the next+时间名词 多以过去为起点，表示过去的“第二（周，天，月，年），下一个……”，谓语动词用一般过去时或过去将来时。但本结构也可用于将来时，前面也可加介词，也可省去the。

The next week they left together. 第二个星期他们就一起离开了。

He went to see her the next Sunday . 第二个星期天他去看了她。

She came again the next morning . 第二天早晨她又来了。

He said he would go on a holiday the next month . 他说他下个月将去度假。

I arrived at the town on Saturday and met him the next week/next week/in the next week . 我于周六抵达那座小城，并在接下来的一周同他见了面。

I hope to arrive at the town on Saturday and meet him next week/the next week/in the next week . 我希望周六抵达那座小城，下周同他见面。

提示

the next week, the next month也可说成the following week, the following month。

He returned home the following week . 第二个星期他回家来了。

3　next 同time, train, bus, turning等连用，表示“下一次／班／个。但要注意，next time（下一次）前不用the，但the next train（下一趟车），the next bus（下一班车），the next turning（下一个拐弯）等前要加the 。

I shall do better next time . 我下次将做得更好。

Don't miss the next train . 不要误了下一趟火车。

Take the next turning to the right. 到下一个拐弯处往右走。

4　live/be next door to 表示“住／在隔壁”，next 前不用the。

He is next door to the Browns. 他在布朗一家的隔壁。

She lives next door to me.（正）她住在我的隔壁。

She lives the next door to me. （误）
