　stop sb./sth. from doing sth. 表示“阻止……做某事，使……不做某事”。from 也可以省略，后面直接跟动名词。

He stopped her (from) doing that.（正） 他阻止她做那件事 。

He stopped her to do that. （误）

She stopped us (from) listening . 她不让我们听。

The heavy rain stopped us (from) going out. 大雨阻止了我们外出。

He stopped his dog (from) coming out into the street. 他不让自己的狗跑到街上去。
