218　sure的用法

1　sure 是形容词，意为“确信的，有把握的”，通常作表语，常用结构为：

be sure+that从句

be sure+to do sth.

be sure+of/about sth.

注意下面两种结构的相互转换：

I'm sure that he will go there. 我确信他会去那里 。

He is sure to go there. 他一定会去那里的 。

She is sure to try her best. 她肯定会尽最大努力的 。

I am sure that she will try her best. 我确信她会尽最大努力的 。

I am sure of his success. 我确信他一定成功 。（用名词success ）

I am sure he'll succeed. （用动词succeed ）

I am sure about his honesty. 我确信他是诚实的 。（用名词honesty ）

I am sure that he is honest. （用形容词honest ）

2　make sure 意为“确保，保证，确认”，常用于“make sure+从句”中，表示要求或请求对方“务必”怎样，“一定”怎样。

Make sure the meeting begins at seven. 确保会议在7点钟开始。

Make sure there is an 8:30 train for Shanghai. 务必弄清楚有8点半开往上海的火车。

Make sure the children have enough sleep. 务必保证孩子们有足够的睡眠。

提示

值得注意的是，make sure后接的that后从句应当用一般现在时来表示将来时间。
