　in order to do sth. 意为“为了……，以便……（做某事）”，to 后跟动词原形，引导目的状语，可以替代so that所引导的目的状语从句。动词不定式也可以作目的状语，但用in order to do sth.更为正式。in order to do sth. 的否定式为in order not to do sth.。

She studied hard in order to pass the exam. 她刻苦学习，以便通过考试 。

She studied hard to pass the exam.
