1　forest 指面积很大的、树木高而且茂密的森林，通常远离人烟。

It took them a whole day to walk through the forest . 穿过森林用了他们一整天时间。

2　wood 指规模比forest 小的“森林，树林”，常用复数形式，房前屋后都可能有woods。wood 还指“木，木头，木柴”，为不可数名词。
