Wanda Internet Technology Group will cut at least 1,000 jobs this year, according to two people familiar with the matter. The group, which runs Wanda’s online retail and finance services, employs about 6,000 people.
据两位知情人士透露，万达网络科技集团(Wanda Internet Technology Group)今年将至少裁员1000人。该集团经营着万达的在线零售与金融服务，拥有约6000名雇员。
“The group is readjusting in order to better develop more quickly and in a healthy manner,” said Qu Dejun, the group’s president, on his public social media account.

Dalian Wanda denied Chinese state media reports that its internet arm planned to cut its total number of employees down to 300, but otherwise declined to comment to the Financial Times about whether job cuts were possible.

The Chinese group’s internet arm is tasked with leveraging big data to improve online retail services, which Dalian Wanda hoped to merge with traditional offline shopping models — a convergence of online and offline retailing in which Alibaba has also invested heavily.
