Languid, I drank a cup of adieu,

厌厌别酒，

And held you fair hand anew.

更执纤纤手。

I said, pointing in the courtyard to willow-trees,

指似归期庭下柳，

I’d come back with the first leaf blown off by west breeze.

一叶西风前后。

Why should I not tether my lonely boat?

无端不系孤舟，

How much parting grief could I keep afloat?

载将多少离愁？

The moon shines now again so bright;

又是十分明月，

We’re in two towers steeped in the same moonlight.

照人两处登楼。
