Anne Hathaway didn't always know that she was destined for stardom — but the universe did.

On Friday's episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the Oscar-winning actress recalled the time a self-proclaimed psychic told her out of the blue that she was fated to become a star on the level of, yes, Drew Barrymore. And the message couldn't have come at a better time.

"I got a job and I couldn't do it because I was contractually obligated to do another job," Hathaway explained. "I was really sad because I wanted this job so bad, and I was walking around a flea market in L.A. just like, 'Oh my God, what's going to happen? Is everything going to be okay?'"

Hathaway said she was "so nervous" about the trajectory of her career, until someone interrupted her internal spiral with some perfectly timed advice.

And I just — I need to tell you something: You just got blocked from doing something and it's going to be okay, but you're not on the path you should be. You're supposed to be like a Drew Barrymore.'"

Hathaway said the moment "meant the world to me" at a time when she really needed guidance. "It was such a sign," she added. "I was like, 'Everything's going to be okay. I just have to hang in there and everything's going to be okay, because I'm going to be a Drew Barrymore.'"
