The National Railway Administration (NRA) on Monday officially unveiled the country's first design specification standards for high-speed rail, which experts say will help improve safety and boost exports.

国家铁路局周一正式公布了首部高速铁路设计规范，专家称这会改善高铁安全性并促进出口。

“高速铁路设计规范”即design specification standards for high-speed rail, 设计规范我们常用design specification表示。而高速铁路即高铁，一般用high-speed rail表示，根据专业定义，高铁是指运营时速在200公里以上的客运专线(passenger rail lines)。

该规范是中国正式发布的第一部高速铁路设计行业标准，将从明年2月1日起实施。规范坚持安全第一(place the top priority on safety)，并指出高速铁路只允许运行动车组列车，普通列车不得上高铁线路。
