China will officially launch its national green development fund in 2020, amid efforts to improve the economic policy system for ecological and environmental protection, according to the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE).

环境经济政策是激发企业治污的内生动力，也是解决环境问题的有效途径。生态环境部把环境经济政策作为一项重要工作，采取经济手段、市场手段，推进产业结构、能源结构、运输结构、用地结构的调整优化。一是推动加大财政投入。二是完善价格税收政策。三是推动绿色金融，除设立国家绿色发展基金外，要将绿色金融、绿色信贷，包括环保信用的作用充分体现出来。四是出台专项任务环境经济政策。如各地因地制宜加大黄标车淘汰补贴力度，全国淘汰老旧车、黄标车约2400多万辆。中央财政支持北方地区冬季清洁取暖试点，对实施“气代煤”“电代煤”居民用户进行气价、电价补贴，确保农村居民用得起、用得好。
