在引用别人的话时，如直接引用原话，被引部分称为直接引语。如转述别人的话(作了某些改动)则称为间接淫津。直接引语外面要加引号，间接引语则不加引号，引用部分常常成为宾语从句：
Lao Yang said , " I'm not free . " (直接引语)
Lao Yang Said that he wasn't free . (间接引语)
在把直接引语变为间接引语时要注意下面几点：
1 .在引语的开头用连词that :
He said , " M other , the boy is very naughty . "
He told his mother that theboy was very naughty .
他告诉他妈那孩子很调皮。
在动词say 后，that 有时可以省略。
2 .根据意思改变人称：
He said ( to me ) , " I have left my book in your room . "
He told me that he had left his book in my room .
☆ 他告诉我他把书丢在我房里了。
3 .注意引语中的谓语与句子主要谓语在时态上的一致：
She said , " I need some gauze . "
She said that she needed some gauze .
她说她需要一点纱布。
Kitty said , "I'll call again after supper. "
Kitty said that she would call again after supper .
凯蒂说她晚饭后再来。
4 .根据意思将指示代词、地点及时间状语等作必要的更动：
She said , "I will come here again tonight . "
She said ( that ) she would 90 there again that night .
她说她那一天晚上再去那里。
He said , "I arrived yesterday morning . "
He said ( that ) he had arrived the morning bcfore ,
他说他是头一天上午到的。
She said , " My sister will be back tomorrow evening. "
She said ( that ) her sister would be back the following evening.
谁说她姐姐第二天晚上回来。
一般来讲，here 常改为there , today 改为that day 等。
在某些情况下，变为间接引语时，时态不变。
