1 .以never , little , only , not only , nowhere , hardly , scarcely 等副词引起的句子，常用倒装语序：
Never before had I shown it to anyone .

2 .当一个句子没有宾语而主语又比较长，常可将状语提到句子前去，有时把谓语又放到主语前面，开始这类句子的多为介词短语：

(比较：A firework display came after the banquet . )
Before them lay miles of undulating moorland .
他们前面是一片高低起伏的荒原。
(比较：Miles of undulating moorland lay before them . )
有时提前的也可能是一个副词：
Thus began the plunder of the country 5 wealth .
就这样开始了对这个国家财富的掠夺。
(比较：Thus the plunder of the country 5 wealth began . )
