[正] There are three thousand students in the school.

注：英语动词 have 有三义：(1)物质上的所有，如 I have a lot of friends. (2)身心上的具有：如 I have a poor memory. (3)构成上的含有：如A week has seven days = There are seven days in a week. 例句中的 have 与(3)相似，但仍是似是而非，因学校是一个地点，不是机构，学校与学生的关系，不是不可分离的，不像星期少了一天就不成。还有“there + be”愿意为“存在”，存在于某处，因而变成“有”的意思。
