① steer指用舵或其他手段引向正确的方向。

The sailor steered the ship into the harbor. 水手把船驶进了港。

② direct强调“指引”，即指出某种途径，但并不一定亲自带领。

Sign posts direct travellers. 路标给行人指路。

③ lead指走在前面给某人引路或带领他人共同去达到某一目标。
