ix. 关于状语从句的其他问题
1. as/so far as意为“至于……，就……”, 可以引导状语从句，表示程度、范围等。
1）as/so far as sb. know据某人所知。
2）as/so far as sb. can see在某人看来。
3）as/so far as sb. judge据某人判断。
4）as/so far as sth./sb. be concerned就某人/某事而言，对某人/某事来说。
5）as/so far as sth. goes就某事而言。
2. 状语从句的省略条件：
1）主从句的主语一致，从句的谓语动词是be的某种形式
He fell off the tall tree while (he was) playing in it.
他在树上玩的时候从上面掉了下来。
Her mother works very hard although (she is) badly ill .
她妈妈工作很努力尽管病得很厉害。
2）从句的主语是it，从句的谓语动词是be的某种形式
If (it is) necessary I'll have the letter copied.
如果必要的话，我可以请人把这信复制一下。
If (it is) possible , I should like to have two copies of it.
可能的话我希望有两本。
As scheduled , they met on January 20 at the Chinese Embassy.
他们按原计划于1月20日在中国大使馆见了面。
3. 几种常见的可省略的状语从句：
1）if/unless +主语+ be的条件状语从句
Unless (it is) well managed, the work cannot be finished in time.
这项工作不可能如期完成，除非妥善管理。
2）although/though/even if/even though +主语+ be的让步状语从句
He knows a lot though (he is) a child .
尽管他是个孩子，却知道得很多。
3）when/while/as/before/after/until/till+主语+be的时间状语从句
Be careful when (you are) crossing the street .
过马路的时候要当心。
4）as/as if +主语+be的方式状语从句
He was in a hurry as if (he was) looking for something.
他如此匆忙好像在找什么东西。
5）as/than +主语+be的比较状语从句
They will try to put the plan into practice as quickly as (it is) possible.
他们将尽快把这个计划付诸实施。
4. 状语从句省略后的几种情况：
1）连词+形容词（if necessary/possible, when very young, wherever possible ...）
Fill in the blanks with articles where necessary .
在空格中必要的地方填入冠词。
2）连词+名词（as if a fool, although a child ...）
He always acts as if a fool .
他总是表现得像个傻瓜一样。
3）连词+分词(when arriving, until asked to, even if invited to, than expected ...)
Don't go to the party even if invited to .
即使受到邀请也不要去参加晚会。
4）连词+不定式（as if to speak ...）
He opened his mouth from time to time as if to speak .
他张了张嘴，好像要说什么话。
5）连词+介词短语（while at college, as if in search of something ...）
He looked here and there as if in search of something .
他瞧瞧这里看看那里好像找什么东西。
